    Ministries Call Out

    Christmas in October  (updated)
We simply don't know in this age of COVID-19 what the future holds for joining together in the church building. In anticipation of a limited ability to gather and celebrate the birth of Christ on December 25, we are planning an outdoor celebration on October 25 at 6pm. Join us for carols, candlelight and the joy of the season. Register online (click here) as soon as possible (but no later than Thursday, October 22). Visit oslc-gb.org; click on Events and Full Calendar to register everyone in your family. We will practice social distancing. Please bring your own chairs and empty beverage containers. The Board of Fellowship will serve hot apple juice (in YOUR cup) and cookies; treat bags will be available for the children. Mark your calendar and join us NEXT WEEK Sunday at 6pm.

    Altar Guild Zoom Meeting
October 26 at 6:30pm is the date for the rescheduled Altar Guild zoom meeting. If you are unable to attend, please contact Jennifer Damp with your schedule of availability to serve in the upcoming year.

    Fireside (Zoom) Chat CHANGE
On Sunday evenings, from 6:30-8pm (except October 25 due to our Christmas in October celebration), OSLC will host a congregational Fireside Chat on Zoom. Pastor Dave will host and guide the group into virtual fellowship, joyful conversation and storytelling. Pastor Dave will moderate the participants so there is good order.  Please check the events calendar on the OSLC website for the Zoom link. Expect to see up to 100 folks (the Zoom limit) in a memorable evening together. You will need the free Zoom software (https://zoom.us/download) to participate. This will be fun!

    Weekly “Connections”
As we move through our sermon series this fall, we open the congregation up to a live Zoom discussion every Tuesday at 6:30 pm. The evening topics will include the sermon subject matter and Scripture from the previous Sunday. See the schedule of upcoming Tuesdays at the church calendar of events . The topics will be excellent for individuals, families, and religious educators. These online Zoom meetings will later be uploaded and archived.

Food Donations for Manna for Life
We continue to help by having a collection container outside of the main entrance (under the overhang) for you to place donations if you are not yet coming to church.  Non-perishable items such as peanut butter, canned vegetables, canned fruit in lite syrup, tuna, chicken, cereal, etc. are all greatly appreciated by those in need.

    Chick with Stix Christmas Prep
It's getting colder outside and winter is just around the corner. Keep making, or start now, if you can make hats, mittens, scarves and other winter accessories. We will collect those items until Sunday, December 6. Items are distributed locally through agencies that assist families in our immediate area.

     Boards and Committees

Board of Evangelism Asks for Active Military Updates
We are updating our Active Military list.  If you have a family member whose name you have not submitted to the church yet, or someone who is no longer in the military to remove, please notify the church office. Please include the person's contact information for a new submission or updated address information for a name we already have. The Board of Evangelism would like to send cards of appreciation or celebration of a holiday to the men and women who serve our nation so graciously.  We just need your help to be sure we have accurate information.

    Mite Boxes
Mite Box donations can be dropped off at Our Saviour during regular office hours. Simply call to schedule a time and day. Please bring your mites in a plastic bag and keep your mite box to reuse. As always, we are grateful for your participation in our mission efforts.

    Our Lutheran Schools

    Pizza Ranch Night
Green Bay Trinity will benefit from Community Impact Night at the Main Street Pizza Ranch on Monday, October 19 from 4-7pm (note the earlier closing time). A percentage of sales plus all tips will be given to the school. Bring the family for a great buffet (maximum capacity is 50 due to the Governor's mandate) or call for a curbside carryout.

    Can Pop Tops
You may already know this...Ronald McDonald House assists families with housing when their child is in the hospital. But what you may not know is that GB Trinity currently has a family staying in a Ronald McDonald House in Milwaukee while their 1st grade son is in the hospital. To support this charity, the school is actively collecting can pop tops. Pop tops can be placed in a sealed envelope, ziplock bag or small covered jar and placed in the OSLC collection area or outside collection box anytime.

    NEWLSA Open Board Meeting
If you are planning to attend the meeting on Monday, October 19th at 6pm at Christ of the Bay Lutheran Church, please RSVP to one of our Board Executive Committee Members no later than Friday, October 16 at 7pm.  If you are uncomfortable attending in person but you would like your question to be addressed you can email your question to one of the four members directly as well.

    Parking Lot Watch
The parking lot and green space are used during recess for Preschool and Trinity students age 3-14 to play, with up to 140 children on the property on any given day.  From the hours of 2:30-3:30 pm, many cars line up in the parking lot to pick up their students at the end of the school day. If possible, please avoid visiting the church during that time.

    It's Shoebox Time!
Otherwise known as Operation Christmas Child, the shoebox project is on again for 2020. Notebooks, coloring books, crayons, pens and pencils, socks, sunglasses, small toys, solar calculators, dark washcloths and more can be donated for a child aged 2-14. Battery operated items should include extra batteries. Remember that items need to fit together in a small shoebox. Please do not bring candy, gum, liquids, toothpaste, 'army' toys or anything glass. Clearly mark your bag or box for 'OCC' and leave in the collection area by the 2nd floor elevator or place in the blue bin under the overhang by Sunday, November 8. Volunteers from the school will assemble items received into specially designed gift boxes.

    Trinity Student Walk-a-thon
Trinity students will be walking as a fundraiser for the school as they do every year but this year, they will do it virtually and pick their own route and distance to walk. If you have not received a letter from a Trinity student asking for a pledge, feel free to make a Walk-a-thon donation anyway. Mail checks to Green Bay Trinity Walkathon, 120 S. Henry Street, Green Bay, WI 54302.  Thank you for your support!!!
