Bring a chair or blanket to sit on as we worship outside in a socially-distanced way (masks optional). The Board of Fellowship will provide treats after the service…and there will be NO 10:45 am service that day. For those that are unable to attend in person, a recorded service will livestream at 9:15am as usual.
FIRESIDE (ZOOM) CHAT - On Sunday evening, September 13th from 6:30-8pm, OSLC will host a congregational Fireside Chat on Zoom. Pastor Dave will host and guide the group into virtual fellowship, joyful conversation and storytelling. Pastor Dave will moderate the participants so there is good order. Please check the events calendar on the OSLC website for the Zoom link. Expect to see up to 100 folks (the Zoom limit), in a memorable evening together. You will need the free Zoom software (https://zoom.us/download) to participate. This will be fun!
Introducing Weekly “Connections” - As we move through our sermon series this fall, we open the congregation up to a live Zoom discussion every Tuesday at 6:30 pm. The evening topics will include the sermon subject matter and Scripture from the previous Sunday. See the schedule of upcoming Tuesdays at the church calendar of events . The topics will be excellent for individuals, families, and religious educators. These online Zoom meetings will later be uploaded and archived.
OPEN COUNCIL POSITIONS
The parish planning council has established a Nominating Committee to help fill vacant positions at OSLC. The 4-member team will consist of Jay Dolezal, Randy Ronsman, Neil Burmeister, and Mike Charles, all past presidents of the parish planning council. Pastor Dave will be an advisor to the committee.
The committee is currently looking for nominees for the 2020 President Elect, Board of Education Chair, and members of the Board of Trustees. The committee will also take nominees for the following positions, which will be voted on at the annual meeting:
2021 President- Elect
Board of Evangelism Chair
Board of Stewardship Chair
Board of Trustees Chair
If you would like to nominate someone or you are interested in filling one of these positions yourself, please talk to any member of the committee who will answer all your questions. We have a very strong and committed team. To maintain this teamwork, we need to fill positions as needed to meet the needs of our members.
Thank you for all assistance you can give to the Nominating Committee.

HELP YOUR NEIGHBOR
We accept the following items when you attend church or call the church office to arrange to drop off your donations:
Non-perishable food for Manna for Life (see below)
Stamps for LWML (leave a ¼” edge around the stamp)
Coupons for our Military base in Japan (see above)
Plastic bags for making mats
Empty ink cartridges
Coke Points (bottle caps, multipack-carton/overwrap)
Box Tops for Education
Food Donations for Manna for Life - The needs of our community continue to increase as so many people experience greater instability in their lives. For many years, OSLC members have helped meet the community needs through our food barrel donations for Manna for Life but that has been disrupted during this time of the corona virus and covid-19. We will continue to help Manna by having a collection container outside of the main entrance (under the overhang) for you to drop your donations if you are not yet coming to church. The food will be taken into the church each day and as often as necessary it will be taken to Manna. Non- perishable items such as peanut butter, canned vegetables, canned fruit in lite syrup, tuna, chicken, cereal, etc. are all greatly appreciated by those in need. The Board of Evangelism thanks those who have been helping all along, and to those for whom this outdoor collection will be easier.
