Special Worship News
9:15am In House Worship Returns!
The 9:15am in-House worship returned last Sunday! This brings our total number of weekly services back to the pre-COVID number of five. On-line registration is still requested for all services. Masks will be required while in the building. For those unable to be in-house with us, the 9:15am service Livestream will continue.
Parking Lot Communion
Along with the 9:15am in-house worship, we will offer parking lot communion beginning this Sunday. Sign up online and indicate that you will be in the parking lot. The parking spaces by the south gym doors will be reserved for you or, if you need the guest OSLC WIFI to stream the service, park in the driveway just past the overhang - facing south toward the parking lot). At the end of the communion distribution inside, communion will be brought out to your car. This service will be livestreamed so you can watch on your smart device and know when the Lord's Supper is on its way.
Sunday School Returns!
Even more good news! During the 9:15am service, Sunday school is being held with some changes. We ask that you: 1) Complete the Sunday school registration form (just once per family) at oslc-gb.org; and 2) Register your child(ren) to attend Sunday school when you register to attend worship. These simple steps will help us be properly prepared. See the FAQ about Sunday school on our website: oslc-gb.org.
God's Work in Our Midst This Week
The Eternal Flame for the month of January is sponsored by Paul Kuehl in memory of Mom and Dad.
If you don't see the event/worship service you want in the 'Featured' section of our website (oslc-gb.org), click on 'Events List' or 'Full Calendar' to find it. Please register everyone planning to attend and sit together.
Sponsoring Altar Flowers
We are seeking sponsors for weekly Altar Flowers. Please call or email the church office to become a sponsor; provide the date(s) desired with information on your special event celebration or the names of loved ones being remembered.
Newsletter Article Deadline
Articles for the February issue of The Voice are needed in the church office no later than Friday, January 22 at noon.
Lay Readers Return to Lectern
Beginning on February 4, 2021, OSLC will once again look to utilize lay readers during all services. Whether you are a previous reader or newly interested in this opportunity to serve, please contact the office to be placed on the new schedule. Readers are scheduled during the Thursday 6:30pm service and all three Sunday service times.
Deeper Things For Your Faith Walk
Servant Opportunities Abound
As we hold more in-house events, more servants are needed. If you have thought about joining or leading an usher team, now is the time! Would you like to help sanitize the Sanctuary between worship services? More Sunday school teachers are wanted, too. Contact the church office for more information on what interests you!
Sunday School Teachers
We want to add more teachers to our servant staff; if interested, contact Becky Nichols or the church office.
NYG Interest Form
Planning for the 2022 National Youth Gathering in Houston, TX is underway! Youth currently in grades 7-11 are eligible to attend; adults age 21 and older are invited to apply to be a chaperone. Click the word here - YOUTH or CHAPERONE - to register your interest. Our wide-eyed goal is to register 50 youth (we are currently around 25) plus chaperones!
Boards and Committees
OSLC’s 2021 Budget
Due to pandemic, we did not hold a voters meeting in 2020 to approve the 2021 budget. Because of that, the Board of Personnel & Finance and the Parish Planning Council approved the 2021 budget on December 14. For the entire article written by our Congregation President regarding the budget and voters meeting, please see the January 2021 issue of The Voice available at oslc-gb.org.
