    Special Worship and Bible Study News

    Coming this fall - ENGAGING The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
    Join us for our fall class based on the bestselling book by Steven R. Covey. Learn to engage these simple but powerful habits - they will weave themselves into your faith-life. This class will meet on Wednesday evenings from 6-7:30pm for six evenings beginning  October 6. Call the church office to reserve your seat. Members and non-members are welcome. The only cost is your time and effort! Call 468-4065. Michelle is waiting for your call. Pastor Dave is the guide for this course.

    Tuesday 7AM Bible Study
    Join this group in the Parlor/Library on Tuesdays at 7am (usually until 8am). We are currently studying the New Testament book of Luke.

    UPDATE: Protocols and Communion
    Online registration and arrival check in are no longer needed. All services are in the Sanctuary. COVID protocols for each service are:
              Sunday 7:45am - Masks required (unless age 2 or under); social distancing; no singing. Communion will continue in the pews with the prefilled cups.
              Sunday 9:15am - No protocols. Communion at the rail with wine and wafer returns.
              Sunday 10:45am - No protocols. Communion at the rail with wine and wafer returns.
              Thursday 12:15pm - Masks required (unless age 2 or under); social distancing; no singing. Communion will continue in the pews with prefilled cups.
              Thursday 6:30pm - No protocols. Communion at the rail with wine and wafer returns.

    If you are not a member of Our Saviour but are attending services with us, we ask you to please complete a Guest Card, at least one time. Completed cards can be given to an usher or placed in the offering plate.

    Communion Outside of Inside Worship
    During the 9:15am in-house worship, we offer parking lot communion. Contact the church by NOON on Friday if you plan to stay in your vehicle and have communion brought to you after distribution during the 9:15am service on any given Sunday. Pastor will also visit you at home; call the office anytime to schedule.

    9am Tuesday Morning Bible Study
    During the months of July and August, this group will not meet. We invite you to come back beginning September 7.

    Concordia Publishing House Annual Bible Sale
    If you are planning to purchase a new Bible for yourself or maybe as a gift, contact the church office for a possible discount of $1 to $30. If you know the item number(s), that helps but is not required. Orders must be placed with the office no later than Monday, July 26.

    God's Work in Our Midst This Week

    Eternal Flame
    The Eternal Flame for the month of July is sponsored by Steve and Julie Rusch in loving memory of Julie's mom, Diane.

    Keep the Congregation Informed - Work from Home
    The Voice, the monthly newsletter for Our Saviour Lutheran Church, is in search of a new Editor. This position requires 3-4 hours at the end of the 3rd week or beginning of the 4th week every month. Use your own computer; no need to come into the office. Articles are provided for you to arrange within the newsletter. Do you have a favorite program or format to use? The Voice has had several editors using several different programs (editor's choice) over the last 16+ years. Contact Michelle at (920) 468-4065 or if interested.

    OSLC Needs YOU to Serve!
    We are looking for more servants to assist on Thursdays and Sundays to assist with Ushering duties plus Livestream and in-worship slide techs (training provided). Ushers assist with social distancing and other protocols at various levels.  Families can work together so don't count yourself out just because you have children.  Let us know what service(s) you attend and we will place you with others who want serve the Lord at Our Saviour. The more people that get involved, the less work there is for everyone! Join the 'crowd'!!

    Recruiting Strong Young Men
    The Super Sale needs you!! Just a few hours on one to three days this summer between July 26 and August 6. This is when we plan to schedule picking up furniture, appliances and other large donations for the Super Sale. The pick up dates will be determined based on YOUR availability on the weekdays during those two weeks so please contact us now. If getting to and from church is a problem, let us know and we can pick you up! How many pick up dates are needed will be based on what pick ups are requested; starting time will be 8 or 9am. If you need community service hours for school, club/organization, etc., we will be happy to complete the paperwork for you.

    Fish Fry Emails
    The Fish Fry team will be needed soon. Emails will be sent each month to invite you to sign up to work for the upcoming fish fry - the first one for the year is September 10th. To receive those emails, please contact the church office. Past workers are currently on the email also let us know if are unable to serve and do not want to receive those emails.

    Sponsoring Altar Flowers
    We are seeking more sponsors for weekly Altar Flowers. Please call or email the church office to become a sponsor; provide the date(s) desired with information on your special event celebration or the names of loved ones being remembered.

    Children/Student Ministries

    Youth - This One's for YOU!!
    Next Sunday, July 25, is our Youth Night and National Youth Gathering Year Kick off!  All families with youth entering 8th grade thru just graduated high school seniors are invited to the 'Back to It Bash' from 4-9pm. Food, games and fun are on the way. CLICK HERE to Register Friends are welcome...parental permission required so please send them the registration link.

    National Youth Gathering - Register NOW!
    There is still time to become part of the group! The 2022 National Youth Gathering in Houston, TX is just 13 months away! Youth currently in grades 7-11 are eligible to attend; adults age 21 and older are invited to apply to be a chaperone with Our Saviour's group. Click the word here - YOUTH or CHAPERONE - to register your interest. Our wide-eyed goal is to register 50 youth (we are currently around 30) plus chaperones!

    Packers Family Night Tickets - Youth Fundraiser
    Packers Family Night is Saturday, August 7. The youth are selling tickets for $10 each as a DON'T buy them from the Packers. Order online at beginning July 14. ALL tickets  (those ordered from OSLC and those ordered directly from the Packers) will be mobile so you must have a smartphone with access to the email address provided with your order. Each order may have more than one email address. For questions or to order by phone, call Michelle in the office at (920) 468-4065. We have a limited amount of tickets but want to sell out! Members, non-members, and friends are welcome to order from OSLC. Support both the OSLC youth and the Packers with your purchase. (If you don't plan to attend but have time to volunteer, see the Lambeau Field News section below to find out about working for Our Saviour.)

    Vacation Bible School

    VBS Starts Tonight (Sunday)
    If you have not registered, you are welcome as a 'walk-in'. Join us for the Kickoff meal at 5pm with VBS to follow from 6-8pm. VBS continues from 6-8pm Monday thru Wednesday (we will NOT be meeting on Thursday as previously scheduled). Contact VBS Director, Caitlin, Wheeler at   or Michelle in the church office (weekdays only) with questions.

    Super Sale News

    Super Sale Donations!
    The Super Sale returns on August 13th , 14th and 15th , 2021.  Limited donations are now being accepted. IMPORTANT: We can accept your items only if they  are boxed and stackable since they will be stored in a small accessible area on the first floor.   If at all possible, we would appreciate it if you could wait until we begin setting up in the gym on July 26th to bring your donations.  Since the basement is full we are very short on space for storage on the first floor.  However, if you must bring them early,  please place your boxed donations against the wall in the office hallway (without blocking any doors, of course).  Furniture, other large items and unboxed items can be brought to the gym on or after July 26.  Empty boxes can be taken from the church basement if you need them to pack your treasures. Please remember no clothes and only items that are working, clean and something that is good enough to resell.  We are also in need of a new Chairperson for next year.  This is the time to learn what is involved.  Please consider finding out if this is something that you would enjoy by calling the church office or Jill Proulx at 920-265-1402 with any questions or comments.  

    Super Sale Workers Needed
    Please also plan on not only shopping, but also helping with set-up beginning on July 26th and then on the sale days. This sale will be a big one since we will have 2 years worth of merchandise, so we will need many servants to help.  We will especially need youth and strong bodies to bring up merchandise from the basement (if you can help on July 26, just show up) and on the three days of the sale! Paper sign up sheets for the sale days (August 13, 14 and 15) and Monday packing day can be found on the Welcome Center. Check your schedule and find a time or two that will work for you to serve.

    Super Sale Advertising
    Everyone is welcome to take a color poster, available in 8.5x11 or 11x17 sizes, to local merchants for posting. Both posters can be found at the Welcome Center. Along with the larger posters you will find handouts...take them for your friends, neighbors, co-workers - anyone who likes to shop and is willing to support OSLC. Check with any business that has a community board and ask if you can put up this Super Sale notice. When you do, please make note of where they are so you can also retrieve them after the sale. The better those spaces look, the more updated the information is, the more likely people will read what is posted. The week of August 8, yard signs will be available for you to take and return after the sale.

    Super Sale Furniture / Large Item Pick Up
    We hope to have crews available two or three days to pick up your large items for the Super Sale. Please don't wait...if you have something to donate, call the church office as soon as possible so that we can work on getting it on the schedule. We will arrange pick ups based on you and the pick up crew's availability sometime between Tuesday, July 27 and Monday, August 8. If you can be part of a pick up day crew, contact the church office with your availability.

    Lambeau Field News

    Lambeau Field Fundraiser-Let's Work Together
    OSLC will run a concessions stand in the Club Seats (temperature controlled) at Lambeau for all home games/events in the hopes to fundraise around $30,000 for OSLC this year. Twenty (20) people are needed per game to make that happen! The first event is Family Night on August 7. Workers must be at least 14 years old, have a drivers' license (picture student ID with birth certificate for minors without a DL) and be able to work on your feet. Required online training is now find out more, contact the church office at (920) 468-4065 or . Work just one game or all, we welcome you to be part of the Lambeau Field experience. Families with children in the church's preschool, Green Bay Trinity and/or NEW Lutheran High School can earn money for their tuition account or church youth account. Grandparents, you can work for your grandchild's account, too!

    Lambeau Field MASK Update
    If wearing a mask was keeping you from volunteering  at Lambeau, this was received from Green Bay Sportservice: 
    This is the exact internal email from the Packers. "Effective July 1st, all vaccinated public-facing employees will no longer be required to wear face masks. We also will be removing all of the plexiglass barriers in public spaces. As a reminder, all unvaccinated employees will continue to be required to wear face masks."

    Packers Family Night - August 7 (and August preseason games)
    The gatelist of workers needs to be turned in the night of August 4. If you are able to work for Family Night (August 7) or the preseason games (August 14 and 21 - both Saturdays), please notify Neil Burmeister or the church office as soon as possible. All testing and paperwork must be done before you work your first event. If the ServSafe online course is needed, a code has to be ordered for you. Don't delay... help everyone by volunteering NOW for any of these upcoming events.

    Friday Night Fish Fry - Coming in September!
    The Board of Fellowship is planning the first Fish Fry of the year...on September 10, 2021. Help us make this a success by offering to be on the Fish Fry Manager team (team of 4; we currently have 3) or take on the position of Kitchen Manager. Job descriptions are available by calling the church office or reaching out to Jill Proulx at (920) 465-1437.

    Youth Needed for Fish Fry Nights
    The first fish fry of the season is September 10. We are looking for 6 youth per night to bus tables, serve beverages and assist in other areas of the fish fry from 4pm to 7pm. Tips received will be split by the working youth to be used for paying for future youth events, such as the NYG 2022 in Houston, TX. We are working on setting up online registration; in the meantime, feel free to call the church office to sign up or if you have questions.

    Mite Boxes
    Please keep filling those Mite boxes. We continue to collect your mites during the week - please put your Mites in a plastic bag or envelope, keeping your Mite Box to reuse, then contact the church office to schedule a drop off day and time. Thanks.

    Chicks with Stix Seek Winter Gear
    Okay, so summer is here with some hot temperatures...but we know that winter will come all too soon and stay too long! It's never too early to start knitting those hats, scarves and mittens that are needed for Wisconsin winters. Many in our area will stay warm this winter because you gave of your time and talent.     Christian Softball League News
    Our game time on Sunday, July 18 is dependent on our standings in the league as we begin playoffs this week. With a double elimination format and only five teams, we are in it until we lose two or to the end! Join us at Ashwaubenon Sports Complex.

    Back to School Store Collection
    2021 marks the 29th year of the Back to School Store® sponsored by Service League! The Back to School Store is usually a one-day event where children from lower income families can shop for clothing and school supplies all for FREE!  This year there will be no physical store but we plan to serve over 3,000 low income elementary and middle school students in need in Brown County by providing a backpack full of clothing and school supplies. Our Saviour's Board of Evangelism is organizing an effort to collect donations of girls' and boys' athletic socks (size M and L), girls' underwear (sizes 4-14) and boys' boxer briefs (sizes 6-20). Donations can be left in the marked donation box by the 2nd floor elevator no later than Sunday, July 25.

    Green Bay Trinity Lutheran is seeking caring and inspiring candidates for the following positions:
         1.  Full-time 3rd grade teacher
         2.  Part-time foreign language teacher (all languages considered)

    We accept the following items when you attend church (place in the appropriate container by the 2nd floor elevator) or you can place items in the blue container under the overhang anytime (the bin is checked regularly on weekdays) or call the office to schedule a face to face drop off time.
               Non-perishable food for Manna for Life (next delivery date will be Monday, July 26).
               Stamps for LWML (leave a ¼” edge around the stamp - standard/flag forever stamps are not needed)
               Coupons for our Military base in Japan (see below)
               Plastic bags for making mats
               Empty ink and toner cartridges (for Trinity and Our Saviour - recycle value is $2 each)
               Coke Points (code can be found on bottle caps, multipacks-carton/overwrap)

    Coupons for Military Families
    If you are saving coupons for our adopted military base in Japan, please cut and sort  (food or non-food) if you are able. OR provide coupon sheets, and we will cut/sort. Coupons to be sent in early SEPTEMBER are due Tuesday, September  7th. Coupons must have an expiration date of June 30 or LATER. Questions can be directed to Michelle in the office.
