    Special Worship and Bible Study News

    Protocols and Communion
    COVID protocols are below, separated by the service day and times to which they apply:
              Thursday 12:15pm and Sunday 7:45am - Masks required (unless age 2 or under); social distancing; no singing. Communion will be served in the pews with the prefilled cups.
              Thursday 6:30pm and Sunday 9:15am and 10:45am - No protocols. Communion at the rail with wine and wafer.

    Readers - Please Contact the Church Office
    As we near 2022, a schedule of readers for all 'regular' worship services will be created. If you are interested in becoming a reader or if you are a reader and want to change how often or at what service you read, contact Michelle in the office no later than November 24. The new schedule will be sent out in early December.

    Live Nativity - December 8
    It's baaack! The Live Nativity, including live animals, will be held at Our Saviour on Wednesday, December 8 with three presentations: 5:30, 6:00 and 6:30pm. Singers encouraged to  attend and assist with carols during all three times. A free-will offering soup supper will be held from 5-7pm with cookies and hot beverages. We will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Manna for Life Food Pantry as well. Invite friends and family to join you.

    Live Nativity Posters
    There are a few color posters (8.5x11 size) at the Welcome Center. If you know a place of business where this can be posted for the public, please take one. We also ask that you be responsible to remove the notice after the event date. More will be printed if these disappear! Thank you.

    God's Work in Our Midst This Week

    Eternal Flame
    The Eternal Flame for the month of November is sponsored by Dave Johnson and Marcia Heise in memory of our loved ones.

    Christmas Poinsettias
    It's time to sign up for Poinsettias to beautify the altar for Christmas. Plants can be sponsored for $15 each (and you can take it home anytime after Christmas Day worship). Please call or email the church office with your name and 'in memory/in thanks' message by Monday, December 13. When sending your donation, please indicate 'poinsettia' on the memo line of your check or on the outside envelope.

    2022 Sponsorship Opportunities
    Sign up now to sponsor Altar Flowers, Bulletins and/or the Eternal Flame for any week/month in 2022. Remember a special event (i.e. birthday, baptism, wedding anniversary, etc.), or a loved one who is no longer with us. Call or email the church office with the date(s) desired.

    SCRIP Sales Leader Needed
    SCRIP sales provide a budgeted income to Our Saviour Lutheran Church. Julie Richter has led the SCRIP program at OSLC for the past 16 years but would like to train someone to take over those responsibilities. Contact Julie Richter directly at .     Soup Supper Sign Up
    Your help is needed on December 8. Please check out the Soup Supper sign up sheet on the white board near the Welcome Center. Come early to set up and then serve...or come to serve and stay later for clean up. Make sure to enjoy one of the Live Nativity presentations as well. Parents, your Confirmation youth will participate in the Live Nativity; why not hang out and help in the kitchen/gym?

    Leaf Rakers and Snow Removers Needed
    The church office is receiving calls from neighbors and members asking for help this year with leaf raking and/or snow removal. If you are interested in clearing leaves or snow, either as a paid job or as a volunteer, please contact the church office with your availability and contact information.

    Important Giving Updates

    Thinking About Online Giving?
    We have a matching gift offer from FellowshipOne Giving. For new, recurring gifts: Your first recurring gift (scheduled to begin between November 1 and December 31) will be matched up to $50 per person (up to a total of $1,000 to OSLC). If you have been thinking about starting online recurring gifts to OSLC, this would be a great time! Questions can be directed to Michelle in the church office. Don't wait until the end of December...Michelle will be out of the office after Christmas!

    2022 Proposed Budget
    The budget proposed for 2022 is available for your viewing on the office hallway bulletin board. Printed copies will be available at the Voters Meeting on December 12 at 10:45am. You can also request a printed copy from the church office or you can ask to receive it via email.

    Children/Student Ministries

    Sunday School
    Sunday school meets during the 9:15am service every week. To register online, visit Watch for information from the Sunday school about possibly singing at a December service.

    Confirmation and Grades 5-12
    Confirmation Youth will provide the 'Live' in our Live Nativity on December 8. Parts were assigned on November 17, and rehearsal will be on December 1. There is no class or youth night activities on November 24 (Thanksgiving Eve). The Youth Christmas Party for all youth in grades 5-12 is scheduled for Wednesday, December 22 from 6-7:30pm.

    Boards and Committees

    Annual Voters Meeting
    The date is set for the annual Voters Meeting...December 12 at 10:45am. There will be no 10:45am service that day. Please plan to stay after worship or return for this important meeting. The proposed 2022 budget is posted by the church office for review. To receive a paper or electronic copy, please request from the church office.

    Winter Gear Due December 5
    All items are needed by December 5 so that we can prepare for distribution. Please bring in those warm hats, scarves and mittens. Many in our area will stay warm this winter because you gave of your time and talent.

    SCRIP Sales Rising
    As many plan for gift giving and shopping, the SCRIP desk at OSLC has been very busy. To allow time for your order to be filled in the case of a shortage, please plan ahead and order now. Cards are ordered on Sunday and are normally received by Wednesday. Don't wait to get your SCRIP cards for gift giving...or for your own shopping.     Seeking Fish Fry Donations
    We again ask the congregation to provide donations of Coke and Pepsi products (cans only please; regular, diet and clear flavors - Diet Pepsi, CF Diet Pepsi and CF Diet Mt. Dew are NOT needed at this time). We also are accepting butter (unsalted quarters or solids) and rolls of paper towels. Donations can be brought to the kitchen (please place on a counter with a note that says 'fish fry') or drop off at the church office. The next fish fry is December 10.

    Think Super Sale 2022 - SAVE THE DATES!
    Sale dates will be August 12-14. Set up begins on Saturday, July 23. Daily weekday work starts July 25 thru August 11. Booyah prep is August 12 and boxing day is the morning of August 15. Add these important dates to your 2022 calendar and plan to help during this time. New and experienced workers welcome for all activities. Young, strong folks especially welcome for the merchandise move from the basement on July 23 and sale dates.

    Your Stuff Needed for OSLC Super Sale
    We are accepting your donations now thru Wednesday, August 10, 2022. Place items in the appropriately marked areas in the basement or contact Michelle in the office for assistance. If you can store your donations until July 25 when they can go directly into the gym, that would be great. If you can't and/or you need a large item picked up, contact the church office. Clean out your corner room, closets, basement and garage; boxes available, if needed. Your donations are needed to make this sale a success again next year!

    It's Toys for Tots / Teens Time!
    This year, we will not have a formal sign up sheet and will be accepting donations for all age children (birth to 17). Donations of any items for this program can be placed in the special box by the 2nd floor elevator. Ideas include sporting/fishing equipment, toys/games/stuffed animals, movie or electronic store gift cards, cologne/perfume/make up, graphic print T-shirts/sweatshirts, Lego sets, puzzles, backpacks/books/stationary. Items can be brought in until Tuesday, December 14.

    Our Lutheran Schools

    Watch for Playing Children
    With more than 130 students (in grades 3K to 8) in the building on any given day, we ask that you drive into and thru the parking lot with care on school days. All outside doors will remain locked at all times; use the call button at the South door to request entry. If using your own key, you are asked to check in with the church office upon arrival. Student drop off (7:45-8am) and pick up (2:45-3:30pm) on school days may cause lines of cars to block parking spots, etc. Please avoid arriving or leaving during these times when possible.

    NEWLHS Offers Basketball Camp

    Current Collections
    We accept the following items when you attend church (place in the appropriate container by the 2nd floor elevator) or you can place items in the blue container under the overhang anytime (the bin is checked regularly on weekdays) or call the office to schedule a face to face drop off time.
               Non-perishable food for Manna for Life (next delivery date will be Thursday, December 9)
               Stamps for LWML (leave a ¼” edge around the stamp - standard/flag forever stamps are not needed)
               Coupons for our Military base in Japan (see below)
               Plastic bags for making mats
               Empty ink and toner cartridges (for Trinity and Our Saviour - recycle value is $2 each)
               Coke Points (code can be found on bottle caps, multipacks-carton/overwrap)
               Box Tops for Education (for Green Bay Trinity) - if an item has a BTFE symbol, the store receipt from that purchase is
                         needed to redeem for cash
               Can Pop Tops (for Ronald McDonald House)
               Aluminum Cans - Place in can door or leave cans by the shed; let the office know so they can be placed inside the shed.
               Christmas Lights - They don't work anymore? Not the right color? Recycle them with Habitat for Humanity. They can be
                         placed next to the bucket used for the plastic bags.

    Coupons for Military Families
    If you are saving coupons for our adopted military base in Japan, please cut and sort  (food or non-food) if you are able. OR provide coupon sheets, and we will cut/sort. Coupons to be sent in early JANUARY are due January 7th. Coupons must have an expiration date of October 31 or LATER. Questions can be directed to Michelle in the office.
