    God's Work in Our Midst This Week

    Altar Flowers
    Flowers this weekend are sponsored by Lynn and Bernice Stueber in honor of their 65th wedding anniversary.

    Eternal Flame
    The Eternal Flame for the month of November is sponsored by  Lloyd, Carmen, Isaiah and Grace Leuthner in loving memory of our precious Lana Joy.

    Online Worship Registration Deadlines
    (See exception for Thanksgiving.) Online registration for Thursday services closes at 11:59pm on Wednesday. The Friday registration is live until 11:59pm on Friday; however, the printed list used on Sunday will include only names of those registered by 12:30pm on Friday.

    Christmas Poinsettias
    Plants may be purchased for $15 each. There will be NO sign up sheet at church this year. To sponsor a plant for the altar at Christmas this year, contact the church office by phone  or email by noon on Friday, December 11.

    Deeper Things For Your Faith Walk

    November Means Thanksgiving Worship
    Online registration is open now (early registration would be appreciated!) for the services on Wednesday, November 25 at 6:30pm and Thursday, November 26 at 9:15am. Online registration for both services will close at midnight on Tuesday, November 24; registration lists will be printed on Wednesday afternoon.

    Livestream Thanksgiving Worship
    The 6:30pm Thanksgiving Eve worship service on Wednesday, November 25 will be livestreamed. It will also be recorded for future viewing. Nothing special needed; access this the same way as previous livestreams.

    Do you miss church music? 
    Here are some suggestions from YouTube:
    Praise Band Music: Worship and Praise by Daughters of Zion and Canciones Cristianas en ingles by Carlos Vargus. Go to the YouTube search box and enter Worship and Praise.
    Traditional Music: Top 10 Christian Hymns and Old Hymns. Enter Hymns in the YouTube search box.

    Grief Support
    Do you have an empty chair at your house this holiday? Our own Renee Natzke is launching a grief support group. Recall, she and her family lost their five year old son, Jack, a few years back.     Food Donations for Manna for Life
    We continue to help by having a collection container outside of the main entrance (under the overhang) for you to place donations if you are not yet coming to church. The barrel by the 2nd floor elevator is also available. Non-perishable items such as peanut butter, canned vegetables, canned fruit in lite syrup, tuna, chicken, cereal, etc. are all greatly appreciated by those in need.  

    Chick with Stix Christmas Prep
    Keep making, or start now, hats, mittens, scarves and other winter accessories. Place items in the purple bin near the 2nd floor elevator by Sunday, December 6. Items are distributed locally through agencies that assist families in our immediate area.

    Seeking LWML Young Woman Representative (YWR)
    The North Wisconsin District of the LWML is seeking applicants for YWR. Expectations for an applicant can be found in The Voice (November and December issues) or can be emailed upon request to the church office.  Or, to discuss your interest, contact Sandy Groth or Debbi Young.

    Children/Student Ministries

    NYG Interest Form
    Planning for the 2022 National Youth Gathering in Houston, TX is underway! It's really NOT that far away!! Youth currently in grades 7-11 are eligible to attend; adults age 21 and older are invited to apply to be a chaperone. Click the word here - YOUTH or CHAPERONE - to register your interest. Our wide-eyed goal is to register 50 youth (we are currently around 25) plus chaperones!

    Boards and Committees

    Mighty Mites
    Mite Box donations can be dropped off at Our Saviour during regular office hours. Simply call to schedule a time and day. Please bring your mites in a plastic bag and keep your mite box to reuse. As always, we are grateful for your participation in our mission efforts. 

    Our Lutheran Schools

    School is now in session!
    Watch for signs on/near the entry doors and register with the office upon arrival.

    Parking Lot Watch
    The parking lot and green space are used during recess for Preschool and Trinity students age 3-14 to play, with up to 140 children on the property on any given day.  From the hours of 2:30-3:30 pm, many cars line up in the parking lot to pick up their students at the end of the school day. If possible, please avoid visiting the church during that time.

    Pastoral Visits
    We continue to offer pastoral visits with prayer and/or The Lord’s Supper at the door. Call the church office at (920) 468-4065 to schedule.

    In-House Worship
    - Please arrive no more than 20 minutes early
    - Entry and exit for everyone is under the overhang
    - Register online (highly recommended) by Wednesday for Thursday or by noon on Friday for Sunday. OR call the church office by the deadline if you can't sign up online.
    - Properly worn masks are required (except for those age 2 and under).

    To purchase SCRIP, place your order by phone then schedule a pick up day and time. See exceptions below of Michelle's availability for sales.

    Call the church office to reserve a week/month in 2021 to remember your loved one or special event by sponsoring Altar Flowers or the Eternal Flame.

    Scroll to the bottom of the oslc-gb.org website home page to download the OSLC app from Google Play or App Store. Use the app to register for worship, view a recorded live stream event, send an online gift and more.

    Donations for Making a Better Christmas 
    The Board of Evangelism is working to collect items for the local Toys for Teens program (distribution by Salvation Army; deadline is December 6) and also for residents of Bornemann Senior Communities (deadline is December 13). Lists of suggested items can be found at these links:

    A new partnership with Walmart also lets you buy online from a list of toys suggested by the Salvation Army. This program includes free shipping for orders over $35 and the option to have your gifts delivered directly to the Salvation Army. Check out that link here.

    We accept the following items when you attend church or you can drop off items in the blue container under the overhang at the main church entrance. The bin is checked regularly or call the office to schedule a drop off time.

               Stamps for LWML (leave a ¼” edge around the stamp)
               Coupons for our Military base in Japan (see above)
               Plastic bags for making mats

               Coke Points (bottle caps, multipack-carton/overwrap)

               Can Pop Tops (for Ronald McDonald House)

    Coupons
    If you are saving coupons for our adopted military base in Japan, please cut and sort  (food or non-food) if you are able. OR provide coupon sheets, and we will cut/sort. Coupons to be sent in early January must be received by January 3, 2021 and have expiration dates of October 31, 2020 or LATER. Questions can be directed to Michelle in the office.

    There are many ways that your shopping can benefit Our Saviour Lutheran Church:
    ** Before you shop anywhere, purchase SCRIP! Cards available can be used for groceries, gas, restaurants, Amazon, WalMart and more. Contact Michelle in the church office to order and pick up during office hours.
    ** If you don't have an Office Depot rewards account, bring your receipt to OSLC and we can apply it for credit.
    ** If you don't mail in the Menard's 11% rebate, bring the rebate slip before the last mailing date.
    ** Use smile.Amazon.com when you order from Amazon; select Our Saviour as your charity of choice.
