The Eternal Flame for the month of October is sponsored by Rich and Pam Spangenberg in recognition of all the blessings God provides.
The beautiful flowers on the altar this weekend are in celebration of Mason Meyer's 15th birthday sponsored by his grandparents, Scott and Sondra Meyer.
Find Your New Polling Place - OSLC is not a polling location for the upcoming November 3 Presidential election. If you voted here in the past, call the City of Green Bay Clerk or get your ballot information, polling location and more online at myvote.wi.gov/en-us/. Early in-person voting begins on October 20 at the City of Green Bay.
Ministries Call Out
Fireside (Zoom) Chat - On Sunday evenings, from 6:30-8pm, OSLC will host a congregational Fireside Chat on Zoom. Pastor Dave will host and guide the group into virtual fellowship, joyful conversation and storytelling. Pastor Dave will moderate the participants so there is good order. Please check the events calendar on the OSLC website for the Zoom link. Expect to see up to 100 folks (the Zoom limit) in a memorable evening together. You will need the free Zoom software (https://zoom.us/download) to participate. This will be fun!
Weekly “Connections” - As we move through our sermon series this fall, we open the congregation up to a live Zoom discussion every Tuesday at 6:30 pm. The evening topics will include the sermon subject matter and Scripture from the previous Sunday. See the schedule of upcoming Tuesdays at the church calendar of events . The topics will be excellent for individuals, families, and religious educators. These online Zoom meetings will later be uploaded and archived.
Food Donations for Manna for Life - The needs of our community continue to increase as so many people experience greater instability in their lives. For many years, OSLC members have helped meet the community needs through our food barrel donations for Manna for Life but that has been disrupted during this time of the corona virus and covid-19. We will continue to help Manna by having a collection container outside of the main entrance (under the overhang) for you to drop your donations if you are not yet coming to church. The food will be taken into the church each day and as often as necessary it will be taken to Manna. Non-perishable items such as peanut butter, canned vegetables, canned fruit in lite syrup, tuna, chicken, cereal, etc. are all greatly appreciated by those in need. The Board of Evangelism thanks those who have been helping all along, and to those for whom this outdoor collection will be easier.
Chick with Stix Christmas Prep - It's September and the winter cold is just around the corner. Keep making, or start now, if you can make hats, mittens, scarves and other winter accessories. We will collect those items until Sunday, December 6. Items are distributed locally through agencies that assist families in our immediate area.
NYG Interest Form - Planning for the 2022 National Youth Gathering in Houston, TX is underway! Youth currently in grades 7-11 are eligible to attend; adults age 21 and older are invited to apply to be a chaperone. Click the word here - YOUTH or CHAPERONE - to register your interest. Our wide-eyed goal is to register 50 youth plus chaperones! Meeting information will be coming soon.
Boards and Committees
Mite Box Collections - We are happy to share with you that you can bring your mites to church during office hours. Please keep your Mite Box to reuse, bringing your gifts in an envelope or plastic ziplock bag. Thank You so much for your ongoing support for the mission work of LWML! Please call ahead to arrange your drop off day and time with the office.
LWML MITE BOX SUNDAY! - Although we can't have our usual Mite Box Sunday, we can still recognize the importance the mites play in the funding of mission projects. Please join us in person or on line on October 11 for Mite Box Sunday. And, don't forget, Michelle is eager to accept your mite box offerings. Simply call her and let her know you are coming. It is best if you bring your mites in a plastic bag and keep your mite box. As always, we are grateful for your participation in our mission efforts.

PIZZA RANCH NIGHT - Green Bay Trinity will benefit from Community Impact Night at the Main Street Pizza Ranch on Monday, October 19 from 4-8pm. A percentage of sales plus all tips will be given to the school. Bring the family for a great buffet; leave the dishes and clean up to someone else! Carry out orders count, too, so call ahead for pizza, chicken or pasta for curbside delivery.
CAN POP TOPS - You may already know this... Ronald McDonald House assists families with housing when their child is in the hospital. But what you may not know is that GB Trinity currently has a family staying in a Ronald McDonald House in Milwaukee while their 1st grade son is in the hospital. To support this charity, the school is actively collecting can pop tops. Pop tops can be placed in a sealed envelope, ziplock bag or small covered jar and placed in the OSLC collection area or outside collection box anytime.
