Cost:  The cost for the trip itself is $30 for the purchase of food.  However, if you do not have any gear, you may need to spend more in order to be prepared for this hike.

Packing List (Minimal):

Backpack (a good solid pack will do, you do not need to have a hiking pack)

Tent (we will have a person in a vehicle meeting us at camping sites, so a multi person tent will do.  However, if you want the full experience, then a 1 person tent you will carry is great, or do like Pastor Ros and just sleep beneath the stars with the bugs).

A change of cloths and undergarments (you only need to bring one change of clothes and they should be light weight, breathable, and able to dry fast.  Two pair of socks for each day.  One pair of undergarments for each day

A small Hand Towel

A roll of toilet paper (the most coveted of items) and three to four plastic grocery bags (never let the enemy know where you've been).

Quality shoes for walking (they do not have to be hiking shoes, but consider that you will be walking 25 miles).

Sleeping Bag

Water carrying system (canteen, camel back, etc.)

If you have other camping gear which can either be carried, or placed in the vehicle for use on the campsite, consider bringing it.
